Hot Potatoes Version 6

How To Become An Accredited Hot Potatoes Trainer

In order to become an accredited trainer, you need to submit to us the URL(s) of Web materials you have made with Hot Potatoes. The materials must demonstrate your ability to use a range of different features and functions in Hot Potatoes. These are the criteria your Website must demonstrate:

  1. Use of all Hot Potatoes.
  2. Use of at least 70% of current output formats (i.e. Hot Potatoes version 6 outputs).
  3. Use of configuration files/screen to change appearance, instructions, button captions etc.
  4. A pedagogically sound sequence of exercises based on the same material, linked by navigation buttons, and including an index page.
  5. Use of a range of media, including graphics and audio or video, in Hot Potatoes exercises.
  6. At least two different exercise types created with modified source files to change the appearance and/or behaviour of the exercises.
  7. ALL PAGES MUST VALIDATE AS XHTML 1.1 IN THE W3C VALIDATOR (http://validator.w3.org/).

In addition, you will need to submit a detailed lesson plan for a training session to be conducted on Hot Potatoes, at beginner, intermediate or advanced level. This should be in the form of a Webpage, for which you send us the URL.

When you are confident that you have collected the appropriate materials, write to us at support@halfbakedsoftware.com, and we'll direct you to a form you can use to submit your information. When you make a submission, we will evaluate the materials and make a judgement as to whether you have satisfied the criteria. If your materials don't meet the standards, we'll let you know what areas need improvement, and you can submit again. Once your materials meet the standards, we will let you know by sending you an invoice for $100 USD or the equivalent in Canadian dollars. Once you have paid the fee, we will then send you a certificate, and we will post your name and contact information on our trainer list on this Website.
